Full course description

Participants will explore the challenges of teamwork a using the dynamic cybernetic team adaptation model. High-Performing Teams provides essential information for both the novice and the expert interested in becoming more competent in the participation and management of teams. Participants will perform a personal assessment of team behaviors and an assessment of an existing team. They will also create a checklist to facilitate future team meetings.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

  1. Describe the basic components of teams and teamwork.
  2. Compare and contrast the five stages of team development from novice to expert teams.
  3. Formulate three strategies to optimize team performance.
  4. Identify obstacles to high team performance.
  5. Examine team performance metrics.
  6. Apply principles for high team performance to three teams/ committees on regulatory boards.
  7. Assess the dynamic cybernetic team adaptation model.

Course Information

Some assignments will require groupwork. Participation in these assignments is required to complete the course.
